January 24th Meeting

The Side Project is on ground level a concert for and by high school students, college students, and young adults in and around the Chippewa Valley. Volunteers will form side project concept bands at the meeting on January 24th to write and perform 15 minutes of new material at a large auditorium booked on March 27th.

We are looking for local musicians, artists, and songwriters on any instrument, in any genre, who are interested in a low commitment band experience.

The meeting will be held on January 24th, at 6 PM, at Harvestime Church. Despite the location this event isn’t solely for Christians, although they are more than welcome. Next Meeting

The next planning meeting for The Side Project is on December 13th. Once again there will be 2 meetings but only one need be attended. The Meetings will be at 1pm and 6pm. This meeting will be very important for musicians so please tell them all how important it is for them to come. We are hoping to have to many people to fit in cafe 420 and are therefore going to move the meetings to harvestime church in Eau Claire, WI. Do not read to far in to this. THIS IS NOT AN EVENT SOLELY FOR CHRISTIANS ALL THOUGH THEY ARE WELCOME TOO. The church is simply a free space large enough to host the meeting that I have access to. Hope to see you there, don't forget to tell every musician you know. The success of The Side Project rest on us all.

First Ever Eau Claire Side Project

The Side Project is an experiment in arts and community. On the surface it is a music festival completely made up of side project band. On a deeper level it will be an opportunity for people to gather together and experience the arts on all levels. The bands will be created two months prior to the show with the goal of playing one killer show. In between bands the audience can experience poets, actors an open mic and other performers. Artisans of all types will have booths set up for display or show. Attenders will be able to walk through the art gallery or enjoy some food from the bake sale or grill. Needless to say what started as a simple concert has grown into something amazingly different. Keep checking back regularly to see what is new with The Side Project.

Upcoming Planning Meeting

The first planning meeting for The Side Project will be taking place on Thursday, October 23rd @ 7:00pm. It will be held at Cafe 420 in Eau Claire. Cafe 420 is located at 420 Washington St. At this meeting Peter Matz and Adam Thoms will be providing information about The Side Project. Come and learn how you can get involved in a first of its kind experiment in arts and community. We are looking for musician, poets, authors, actors, movie producers, photographers, painters, crafters, etc. You get the point we want artists of any kind. We are also looking for volunteers who may have none of these skills but want to contribute and believe in events in Eau Claire. For more information email us at ecsideproject@gmail.com or call Peter @ 715.894.0640 and Adam @ 715.456.5266
